Is it best to purchase ‘whole beans’ or ‘ground’ Tanna Coffee?

As any good coffee lover would know, fresh is best! If you purchase whole bean Tanna Coffee you can then grind the coffee as you need it ensuring that your whole beans stay fresher for longer. Ground coffee is perfect if you do not have a grinder or if you would like the convenience of a ‘quick brew’ without grinding before using.

How do I keep my Tanna Coffee fresh?

All Tanna Coffee bags come complete with a ‘one-way’ valve which ensures quality and freshness, however once it is opened, it is best to store it in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. Your coffee will then stay fresh for up to a year!

How long will it take to receive my Tanna Coffee?

Customer satisfaction is of upmost importance to us and our respective distributors work hard in ensuring that your coffee is delivered in a timely fashion. Depending on your location, we expect that your coffee will be received within 5 to 7 working days once we process your order and confirm payment.

What type of coffee tree does Tanna Coffee use?

Tanna Coffee is 100% Arabica, and it's sourced from the ‘semi-dwarf’ Catimor variety. Our Catimor trees are strong, resilient and provide a beautiful rich and earthy flavour of coffee.

Where is the coffee grown?

Tanna Coffee is grown on a small island called ‘Tanna’ which is in the south pacific nation of Vanuatu. The island of Tanna is home to the very active Mount Yasur volcano which contributes to the rich and earthy flavours of our Tanna Coffee.

How does the volcano help with the quality of the coffee?

The soil in which the coffee is grown is pure, rich and volcanic providing our well maintained trees with natural nutrients to survive and flourish. The volcanic soil also means that we don’t need to use any harmful fertilisers or chemicals on our coffee trees.

Is your coffee fair trade?

Yes, our coffee is fair trade. We provide the highest possible payment in accordance with world parative prices and have a family like relationship with our farmers who live on the plantation and maintain their allocated plots each season. The land in which the coffee is grown belongs to the people of Tanna and the coffee creates a sustainable income stream for the farmers, their families and the people of Vanuatu. In addition to this, we are also 'certified' as trade ethical through Organic Pacifika

Is your coffee organic?

Yes our coffee is organic. We use no harmful chemical or sprays on our coffee trees and ensure that our coffee is treated with utmost respect throughout the whole processing period providing AA quality coffee. In addition to this, we are also 'certified' as organic through Organic Pacifika

Where is the coffee roasted?

Although the coffee is grown and processed on the island of Tanna, it is transported to the main island of Port Vila to be roasted so it can be sold domestically in Port Vila and exported internationally.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Yes. At this stage we require a minimum of 1kg per order.

Is there a maximum order quantity?

No. There is no maximum order, and if you are wanting to order 10kg (or more), you can simply select 'wholesale' (in the categories section), to order the amount you require at an wholesale price.
